Story: Jessica Darling’s best friend, Hope, suddenly has to move to a different town, leaving Jessica on her own and

Opinion: This is probably the most quintessential YA novel I’ve ever read, a story not distracted by dystopian worlds or thrilling quests. But, as I found out, I think I kind of need those distractions, otherwise I focus too much on what a pain in the ass the characters all are. And they always are, because they are teenagers.

It was a fun read, but now, a week after I finished it, I’m left with a ‘meh’ feeling.
